In Kenya, conservation efforts are crucial for a sustainable tomorrow, especially in the face of environmental challenges. Green Earthing Kenya, is at the forefront of promoting tree planting initiatives, particularly focusing on fruit trees.
The significance of fruit trees goes beyond just providing food; they play a vital role in ecosystem conservation and addressing hunger in arid and semi-arid regions. Green Earthing Kenya is passionate about educating communities, including schools, about the benefits of fruit trees and engaging in hands-on projects to enhance forest growth and combat climate change.
With a base in Nairobi, Green Earthing Kenya aims to spread awareness about the importance of sustainable practices and community involvement in tree planting activities.
Ol Maroroi, in Kajiado West is a great example of tranformation whereby we experimented with fruit trees for the community near the Ol Maroroi Primary School. We planted, avocadoes, apples, lemons, pawpaws and orange trees. The images below show the before and after of the community land that we were reforesting.
